You don't know what you got til it's gone

So today I left my cell phone at the preschool I work at. I left the preschool at 2pm to pick the twins up from school. I couldn't go back to the preschool to get my phone cause I didn't have time. After I got the twins I couldn't go get it because Katherine had a friend come over. So, I was going to call someone to see if they could get it for me or something. But, I didn't have a phone to call on. Then when I got to the kids house with them I picked up their phone to call someone. But, I don't know anyones number because all their numbers are programed into my phone that I don't have. So, I called my mom to get my sisters phone number. (I know sad that I don't know it, but when you have numbers on speed dial you never need it or learn it.) Anyway I got Laura's number and called her to get Rita's number. Rita is Laura's old neighbor and last years director of the preschool. She no longer works at the preschool but I thought she might have Shelly's number who is the current preschool director. I got ahold of Rita but, she was at work and didn't have Shelly's number with her, just an email address. I didn't have access to a computer then though. So, I had to wait till I got home. Luckily I got home early because the twins dad picked them up at 5pm to take Kevin to basketball practice. Anyway I got home around 5:45 and I now had Shelly's email and phone number. But, I don't have a house phone so I sent her an email. I was still worried she wouldn't get the email. But then, I remembered I could chat with Laura in gmail (she gets the message on her blackberry). So I sent her a message to see if she would call Shelly to tell her to check her email. Luckily, she got the message and got ahold of Shelly. Then minutes later I got a reply to my email from Shelly and am now meeting her tomorrow morning to get my phone back. Anyways after all this I have decided that we all rely on our phones and cell phones way to much. I don't know what we ever did without them.

Carter's first movie

On Friday I decided that is would be fun to take Carter to the movies. So, Laura and Carter picked me up and we went to go see Bolt. It was a really cute movie and I think Carter enjoyed it. He watched really intently the whole time and commented on things every little bit. He liked the doggy. And at one part there was an explotion and Carter got all excited and shouted "Woah Big Boom!" But, I think his favorite thing was the popcorn. We got one bag to share but I think Laura and I only ate a little and Carter ate the rest.

Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving I helped out at the Dallas YMCA Turkey trot with my Laura, Johhny, and Carter. It was a lot of fun. We were stationed at about 4.5 miles on the 8 mile route. We handed out water cups to runners. When we got there at 7am we filled up thousands of water cups and stacked them two high on several tables to get ready for the runners. The race started at 9am and the first runners reached us about 20 minutes later. Then for about an hour the street was just packed with people running by and grabbing water. We had to hold cups out for them to grab as they ran. We even got a little wet as the water splashed when the grabbed it. It was very exciting and fun. Once it started to thin out and the majority of the runners had passed we had to clean the streets. All the cups that we spent so long filling up and handing out were now littered all over the streets. As Carter said "ahh big mess." But, with so many volunteers to help clean up it wasn't bad it only took about 15 minutes. After we finished we left and went to Johnny's sisters house for our Thanksgiving feast. They had a ton of food! I don't think we even made a dent in it. It was all really good I took some home and now have enough food for a few good dinners.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun! I went on a Fast Food Proggressive dinner with my lifegroup. We all dressed up in costume carpooled together to four different places for dinner. We started at Sonic for drinks and appetizers, then went to McDonalds for side, then to Chick-fil-a for our main dish, and finally to Dairy Queen for desert. After we were done with dinner we went to a movie together, but it was a downer. I don't recommend seeing the Changeling unless you like leaving the movie theatre deppressed. Besides the movie the whole night was great! Before I met with my friends Carter came trick-or-treating at my house and we got a few pics together. Carter dressed up as Diego, and I dressed as a High School Musical Wildcat fan.

Camping

I went camping in Arkansas a couple weeks ago with my life group and it was a ton of fun.
We went on a long hike where we had to cross the river a few times. We stopped at one area on the river where we swam and had lunch. The water was soooooo cold but it was really fun. There was a rope swing there but it wasn't really safe. A few people even rode down a small waterfall like a slide. I took a few pictures and some video.

New furniture

So my parents came to visit this weekend and they brought me tons of presents! I got a whole houseful of new furniture (well new to me anyway). They brought my piano, and a whole bunch of stuff given to me by some of their friends and my family. A whole bunch of people helped in getting and restoring the furniture. I have so many thank you notes to send out now. My house actually looks lived in now. Everything is sooooo nice I love it! Anyway here are some pics of my house and new furniture.

Ikea

So a few weeks ago I went to Ikea and bought some furniture for my house. I got a dresser for my room and a coffee table for my living room. I know I'm kind of a dork but I was really proud of myself for putting them together by myself. The coffee table was pretty easy, but the dresser took like 3-4 hours. So anyways heres some pics I took to show what an awesome job I did. Yea Me!
