Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving I helped out at the Dallas YMCA Turkey trot with my Laura, Johhny, and Carter. It was a lot of fun. We were stationed at about 4.5 miles on the 8 mile route. We handed out water cups to runners. When we got there at 7am we filled up thousands of water cups and stacked them two high on several tables to get ready for the runners. The race started at 9am and the first runners reached us about 20 minutes later. Then for about an hour the street was just packed with people running by and grabbing water. We had to hold cups out for them to grab as they ran. We even got a little wet as the water splashed when the grabbed it. It was very exciting and fun. Once it started to thin out and the majority of the runners had passed we had to clean the streets. All the cups that we spent so long filling up and handing out were now littered all over the streets. As Carter said "ahh big mess." But, with so many volunteers to help clean up it wasn't bad it only took about 15 minutes. After we finished we left and went to Johnny's sisters house for our Thanksgiving feast. They had a ton of food! I don't think we even made a dent in it. It was all really good I took some home and now have enough food for a few good dinners.
